Port Dickson – one of the best Malaysian Beach Destinations

Port Dickson, or more popularly known as PD, is a truly ecstatic beach in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The beach is situated 32 km from Seremban and 60 km from Kuala Lumpur. It is also famous among local people to be a weekend retreat. It was originally known as the “city of charcoal”, but was later developed as a port.

The main attraction of PD is the 18 km stretch of white sandy beaches that extends in the north from Tanjung Gemuk to Tanjung Tuan in the south. This stretch is beautiful with rows of casuarina palms, coconut trees, and Banyan trees. Tanjung Tuan located near Cape Rachado Blue Lagoon is the most interesting spot for people who love to take a plunge into adventure water rides and picnic.

Every year there is an annual event that brings life into this “lively weekend beach”. Tourists come from all over the world to participate and be a part of the event. The event is famously known as “Pesto Port Dickson”. This is a good time to visit the beaches there.

You can have some fun at the Royal Port Dickson Club built in the year 1927, where you can see some runs regattas and dinghy sailing courses, which came into course inspired by sea trade.

The new 5- star Admiral Marina and Leisure Club has very good dock facilities for yacht travelers, luxury cruisers, and sailboats. It is also the transit point for racing sailboats which joins the Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta, Royal Langkawi International Regatta and Thailand’s Phuket Kings Cup regattas. The 2006 and the 2009 FESPIC Games and ASEAN Para Games.

Port Dickinson is also a famous tourist destination in Negeri Sembilan. The key factor to visit this place is because, this is the only beach in Negeri Sembilan. Also, the close ranges between Port Dickson and with states vicinity like Malacca and Selangor also contribute to the city’ development.

A must see is the Tiara Beach Resort, which has a limited collection of ostriches, pheasants, crocodiles, camels, donkeys, horses, and snakes. The mini zoo is open between 9 am to 7:30 pm.

Cape Rachado or Tanjung Taun is a lighthouse located in PD. You can drive upto the lighthouse situated on the beach! It is truly an amazing experience.

Apart from places that have some significance, you can indulge into lots of adventure water rides like banana boats, parasailing, water scooters, and jet skiing.
