Santa Maria Maggiore

This Church is one of the first Churches in Florence. It was built in 4th century. The interior has a nave and two aisles divided by pointed arches set on square pillars decored by Buontalenti.

On the side of the Church it is a steeple and a little bust named “La Berta”. Berta was a greengrocer that gave to the Church a bell. Where the bell sounded it meant that the door of the city closed and everyone should come home.
