The town of Mussoorie derives its name from a shrub, called mansoor, which grows in abundance in the region. It is a spectacular hill station in Uttarakhand, located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Overlooking the sprawling Doon Valley, Mussoorie offers a majestic view of the distant Ganga River. This hill station acts as a gateway to two major Hindu shrines, Yamunotri and Gangotri. The weather experienced here is bright and clear, except from June to September, when monsoon showers occur.
