Best time of year to visit Orlando, Florida
There is no doubt that the summer months are the absolute worst time to visit any amusement/theme park, anywhere! It’s hot and lines are long due to vacations and school breaks. Did I mention that it’s hot? Especially in Florida. Through experience I can tell you that the best time to visit any Orlando theme park is late September/early October. The weather is still pleasant and most importantly, there are NO LINES. And I mean ZERO LINES. I went along with a few friends to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure Park early October 2007 and we went on each and every ride the theme park had more than once; some rides three times. We contracted a local sedan service for the weekend and visited the Disney, Islands of Adventure, Wet N Wild Water Park, and Universal Studios (including City Walk).
My suggestion would be to research discount coupons on-line for admission, airfare, and hotel information. Check with your workplace for any corporate rates at any Orlando area theme park. Another suggestion is check the universal studios theme park website for discounted rates, but you may be able to find cheaper rates using other websites.
We booked a round trip fare on Southwest for $130 round trip, shared a double room at Amerisuites (which was directly across the street from Universal Studios)for $109 using an on-line coupon, purchased multi-day park passes at a discounted rate through a travel partner’s workplace and rented the sedan service for $100 for the entire weekend. Our driver took us where ever we wanted to go during our stay, including the airport. So, a weekend for four people cost no more than $200 per person for the entire trip (not including spending money).
Plan your trip through thorough Internet research. Check the city’s Area and Convention website for any conventions in the area. You may run into hoards of people at the theme park and this may put a damper on your trip. Be sure to compare prices. Don’t take the first offer you think is a good deal. And always, I stress always, check your local weather. Weather.com have proven to be accurate reporting local weather. There’s nothing worse than visiting Orlando during the city’s rainy period.
With these tips, you’ll get a great deal and have a spectacular trip!
